Our Story
Milverton Press grew, quite naturally, out of the writers group that shares its name. In 2025, after nearly a decade of writing together, we decided to put something into the world—not out of ambition, but because it felt like the next honest step. A way of gathering up some of what we’d made, and sharing it.
We’re a small, writer-led press rooted in care, craft, and attention. Our aim is simple: to publish work we believe in, starting with our own. Our first anthology will launch in 2026, featuring fiction from the members of Milverton Writers. It’s a book made not to impress but to connect—to offer something well-made, and worth reading.
We don’t have a manifesto or a grand vision (not yet, anyway). We’re just a group of writers who take joy in stories, and who think putting words on paper is still a meaningful thing to do.
In time, we hope to open our doors to other writers too. For now, we’re building slowly—quietly proud of what’s coming, and curious to see what follows.

UPCOMING: Milverton Anthology
Our upcoming short story collection emerges from ten years of writing together. After a decade of workshops, drafts, and revisions, we wanted to bring some of those stories out into the world—both from current and past members of Milverton Writers.
The collection features ten short stories that reflect the range of voices and styles within the Milverton Writers group. There’s no strict theme, but the work speaks to the diverse interests and approaches that have shaped the group over time. This anthology is a quiet marker of our shared history, and a chance to put some of these stories into readers’ hands.
